PassMeTheGun
nah, you still need a cable operated handbrake. I'm not sure how it all would work though. Mine just locks the fluid back from the handbrake cylinder and the original handbrake still works as normal. Mine still has drums at the back. Pass me the gun and ask me again.... 1900SR
That second binnacle looks to be a blue one. If you're planning to get rid of it I'd be interested in it if it's in decent nick for Jayne's Sports Hatch. Please let me know if it's for sale. PassMeTheGun
again a small update, cheers for the comments guys. Rab, I dunno where to begin, they all look fantastic especially the Castrol one, I'm tempted to get a couple of standard square lights and swap them for the twins at the front I guess there's not many "r"s like that. 1900SR, the blue binnacle looks to be in ok condition and I'd happily swap it for a black one if you've got one. Here's a couple of better pictures of the progress. BTW my kit has dips cut in the front bumper at the headlights, is this normal with the kits? I don't see them on the originals Cheers, Pass me the gun and ask me again....

PassMeTheGun
I've bought myself a Megajolt Lite kit to hopefully sort out the rough running on the manta (http://www.autosportlabs.com). I've not had the actual module sent through yet but I started getting the rest of the car prepped. Here's what I got: 1x Ford EDIS4 module (early 90's escort) 1x Crank position sensor (early 90's escort) 1x Throttle position sensor (early 90's fiesta) 1x Coilpack (Zetec mondeo) 4x HT leads (early 90's fiesta) 1x Toothed wheel (Sierra pinto) 1x 2m length of 2core shielded microphone wire The coilpack cost me £20 from the scrappies, the toothed wheel was £14 direct from ford, the wire was about £3 from Maplins and the rest cost me £6 from a cheaper scrappy. Before you fit the megajolt you have to check that everything else works with the EDIS module. It will set the ignition to 10deg BTDC which is the ford default limp home mode. After putting it all together I wired it up and guess what....it worked!!! Even with the timing fixed at 10deg it's noticibly smoother (the coilpack is a twin-coil affair so better able to burn the gallons of fuel the 48's chuck in). I've still to build the megajolt module and bolt everything in properly but early signs are good! i'l try to get some pics up to show what i'm talking about later. 0peli400
VERY NICE[8D][8D] location: north wales. mcrae tribute http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_TSu-D1W2wA Life should NOT be a journey to the grave arriving safely but rather to skid in sideways beer in hand, chocolate in the other body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming, "What a Ride!" lepo5
very nice indeed, all you need is an infill panel for the back where your number plate is sitting now, and an exclusive coupe bumper, but thats only my opinion, its your car, and a great job you have done so far, well done. stradacab
No, no, no. I'm liking the black rear panel. A final hint at the GT/J that begat it. Nice work Sir, it looks fantastic.

PassMeTheGun
Cheers for the comments ppl, you'll all know about how long you can spend humming and hah'ing about the small details and although I've got an infill panel and exclusive bumper I decided to go with the black panel at the back as a bit of a nod to some of the rally cars I've seen. The photos are extremely flattering to the paintwork which is pretty ropey at best. I can't complain though as the respray only cost me an old scrapper bmw 325i that I had lying around. The next job (in a few months) will be to fit the 2.9 cosworth v6 that I have in ma garage. That'll be fun [] Cheers, Pass me the gun and ask me again.... vauxsenb
Hi PassMeTheGun,, Gonna get one of these Megajolt kits, with the map sensor option, any chance you have a part No. for the Pinto toothed wheel that you used as our friendly Fraud dealers down in the Borders seem only to be able to work with a chassis No.or part No. without sucking air in thru clenched teeth. PassMeTheGun
yeah, no probs its part no. 1078767 from the twin cam sierra if I remember rightly. It makes a helluva difference and its a fairly simple job. I've still to fit the TPS but even with the crank sensor only, the car runs pretty well. Good luck with it [] Cheers, Pass me the gun and ask me again.... OMOC 6095

PassMeTheGun
Yeah, no probs. It IS up and running well enough to drive about just not completely mappable at the moment. You can download the software from the website and you also have to download and write the code to the actual board (http://www.autosportlabs.net/V3.2.x_/_2 ... ware_image) Feel free to come and see it if you're up, I'm just at the other side of the forth about 1min drive off the m90 in Halbeath.
