Stonymanta
Well Ian V. and I collected MANTA GTE number 2 today and I now have a difficult decision.... Which one to keep or do I try to keep both... My other half wants just 1 Manta in my life, so this could get tricky. Just sorting out a unit to store cars in, so may not be a problem. Here's some of the pics from earlier today. Let me know what you think... Just Out of the Garage after 8 (YES EIGHT) years: Dented Door should fix ok: Engine bay as is: Loaded ready for trip to MK: Big thanks to the Red Rocket Bedford and expert MANTA recovery man Ian Virco for this - getting to become a habit this is... 1900SR
It's looking good Simon. You know you need to keep both of them, and then buy a blue one as well so you can get all patriotic. omoc 5660,Cambridge & The Fens Area Rep & keeper of the A register. Stonymanta
Ian has already offered a Monaco Blue Hatch to make up the full brace [] Who knows with time and a little persistance anything is possible... Oh and an unconfirmed 48k miles - inside is very tidy like the rest so likely to be genuine. Cheers, Simon. 1987 2.0 GTE Hatchback 1971 Opel Commodore Coupe Old Mantas never die, they just get faster !
paulmanta
Get a heater near the door to gently warm it up a bit and then push it out from behind at the point it was pushed in, it looks like it should pop out leaving little or no damage. It looks like a nice car, good find there mate !
Stonymanta
Thanks Paul - I couldn't wait, so we pushed out most of it with gentle taps when we got back home....thanks for the tip feel a bit daft now [:I] [:I] - but it has come out quite well...sorry no pics as it is now stashed away from home... but not for long hopefully [] Cheers, Simon. 1987 2.0 GTE Hatchback 1971 Opel Commodore Coupe Old Mantas never die, they just get faster ! paulmanta
I once saw a video demo of a guy spraying lighter gas on a panel so it froze it then using a hairdryer to heat it up at the centre of the dent, the panel popped itself out once the panel got warm again. It was a really big dent as well, its on you-tube somewhere but lord knows where now, this was a while ago.
Rick-Manta
If you do get rid of the other GTE don't forget to swap the propshafts over so you've still got your fancy one [^] CHECKOUT MY NEW V8 VIDEO HERE http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Djuq2xoCp1E
