Here is my exclusive coupe. I've owned for just over a year now.

I'm hopefully going to get the Carlton 2.2 CIH with injection system fitted soon along with a SPAX suspension kit which i've bought in the last few months.

I'm still debating about the wheels? probably going to fit the original style ronal wheels & red decals on the body work.

Or maybe get some 17" wheels, something like a BK299 wheel, with the anthracite finish? http://www.bkracing.co.uk/aspbite/alloy-wh...-wheel.asp?ID=1& leave the decals off.

Any suggestions?

Cheers Ben, OMOC 6011.

Yes they are the same wheels Clive had on his V8. I sent him a e-mail about them a few months ago! I've just been working on the house & me poor Manta has been a bit neglected. She'll get the TLC she deserves soon.

I bought the manta of Mark Greening in Sept 06, i don't know who owened the car before him. Maybe mentioning Mark's name might jog someones memory.

I think he's talking about my Manta Clive.

I'll have to look at the speakers, I don't recall them being much bigger than 17cm?

I sure it's got the twin piston caliper & solid disks off the earlier Manta B. I'll have to check & make sure.

Thinking back, Mark bought those wheels off another OMOC member. I remember him telling me the Manta they were originaly on, won car of the show! Don't know which show or which year though?

Cheers, Ben.

I bought the 2.2 + the injection system out of the same carlton from Roy Fellingham. Which was runnig rather sweet!![:)]

My car does run with the original 2.0 but I've been suffering with oil pressure problems & i just want a quick fix to get it to run properly.

The intention is to rebuild the 2.0 bottom end to 2.4+ spec with a 2.4 Head + fast road cam, as i'm looking for a big hike in porformance[:D].

But at the moment i do not have the time (& the Money) or the knowlege of CIH engines to do this.

So for the moment i'm playing it safe[;)]!!

Cheers, Ben.

paulmanta will tell you to use the 2.2 fuel rail on a 2.4 and with some other bits 'n' bobs you'll be looking at 170bhp (IIRC).

If I get another manta that's what I'd hope to do.

Pete, thanks for the info. I have had some advise off Paul in the past. I'll have to drop him a e-mail about what is involved to get 170BHP. As thats the kind of power i would like to achive in the future.

Neil, It does have vented discs on the front! So i'm guessing it does have Carlton Discs/calipers. Or can vented discs be fitted with Manta B twin piston calipers?

As for the speakers they are 17cm.

I know Mark had my Manta resprayed about 5 years ago, I'll send him a e-mail to see if he remembers the name of the last owner.

Cheers, Ben.

Not much progress since my first posting apart from fitting the new BK299 rims in anthracite.

When i got them & opened the packaging i really didn't like them, I thought they were very battle ship grey![:(]

But once i fitted them, i changed my mind, I think they look good.[:)]

When i finally fit the Spax kit, I think it will make a big difference to the look.[:D]

Hi Ben,

Thats not Jason Merrys old car but the wheels were off his car, i know Mark well, he bought the wheels off a guy called Rob who owned Jasons old car.

Hope this clears up any confusion.

My Engine swap is finally under way. In the link http://forums.mantaclub.org/vie...=134148#p134148 is a bit of what has been going on the last few days with regard to my clutch problems.

Considering I'm doing the work by myself & I've never done a engine swap before . I don't think i'm doing to bad.

Well lets see when all is finished! Spax suspension kit next!

Cheers,

Ben.
