Does anyone on here go to this meet? Its near Melton Mowbray.

There are a couple of very nice Manta's get there from time to time.

It,s me and Joe that go to most of the meetings throughout the summer months,if you are interested in going i will post something on here when we are going.

Mick.

Just looked at your profile, this must be you then !

Thats me.

I will probably go to the first one in the manta because the moggy is coming off the road soon for more progress engine wise.

I do try to go in a different classic each month. Last year I went in a mgb, 4x4 cossie and a few times in the moggy. I love going in the moggy and seeing the surpised look on faces when they spot the charger on a subtle moggy. If I remember one of the mantas that go has bike carbs?

I am about 90 minutes away but try hard not to miss it, its a great meet. I have admired both of your mantas in the past.

Your Moggie looks great did you fit the charger yourself ?

Oh yes. Totally diy.

Homemade manifolds, belt tensioners and modded front pulleys. Set up by trial and error as well. It's no cheque book queen but can show them up. It's about 120bhp at 10psi in 750kg. Hits 60 on a gps in low 7's on cheap rubber.

Runs an escort mk2 axle, sierra g'box, mondeon concentric release bearing, cage, etc, etc. Its mad but so right. I absolutely love it and will keep it forever. Its good fun dropping out of 5th at naughty speeds and overtaking young lads in "hot hatches".

I will be putting a new better bottom end id soon and we should get nearer 140bhp. If I can get weight down to 700kg we should get to 60 in low 6's. And its not geared low for acceleration either.

Tuesdays meet was very good for so early in the season.

Retro scene mag had a good photo diary of the night that I found on retro rides:

http://retroscenemag.com/post/Carrington-Arms-Meet-140409-Report.aspx

they seemed to have liked my manta a bit! B)

I was pleased with the car because it was the first longer drive i have taken it on 130 mile round trip. It drove perfectly and I found it quite a relaxing car to drive. Certainly got a few looks driving there in a totally valeted 25 year old Manta.

I will be going next month but hopefully in my Minor with its new engine, it would give it a few running in miles in one journey.

Is there any more info on this? MM is only 25 miles from me and I'll make the trip. Won't be ain a Manta though :(

This place is just down the road from Melton Mowbray, there is a back road that leads out of Melton and leads you straight to Ashby Folville.

Won't be in a Manta myself either.
