i had a 1.6 engine with carb but the engine blew up, ihave put a 2.0 gte engine in but i want to keep carb as there is no lift pump on the gte

what could i use to deliver fuel to the carb

The two threaded holes to mount the mechanical fuel pump are already in the timing cover on the GTE engine. The distributor also has the cam to drive the fuel pump. All you need to do is open up the centre hole for the pump itself.

I have done this and it works. You can use a fuel pump gasket over the two bolt holes as a template to mark the centre hole. Then with a vacuum and hole cutter/drill bit open the centre up. Use a dremel if needed to clean the edges up.

Works a treat.
