FOR Sale - My 1986 Manta GT/E with 16v XE.

MOT October 2009

Tax Jan 2010

Mileage (1)00700

I have owned this car since 2003 and just 87,000miles and have taken it from a very original solid standard car to a very quick trackday / weekend toy. The fully documented engine conversion was done during 2005, there is loads of history with the car, every MOT from new, massive folder of bills and paperwork from new including the factory build sheet!

It has recently had a lot of money spent (See below) and it in fantastic condition, maintained regardless of cost and covering very little mileage, only used on dry weekends.

Full Spec -

Engine -

C20XE (taken from a 1990 Cavalier GSI in 2005)

1.8 getrag gearbox

Calibra Turbo friction plate

XE clutch cover

K&N cone filter

Ashley Manifold, Custom centre pipe, Jetex rear silencers (90db at a static 3/4 rev test)

Engine was stripped down and rebuilt in summer of 2008, rebuilt back to standard with valves and ports decoked and polished, ARP titanium rod bolts, new injectors, all new ignition components. After refitting it was set up on the Rolling Road at C&C engine services in Reading where it showed an output of 170Bhp with a lovely linear power curve (graph to prove). the bills for the rebuild and set up total over £1500.

Suspension -

Avo adjustable dampers front

Bilstein Yellows rear

lowered and uprated springs

Quick ratio steering rack 2.5 turn lock to lock

Brakes -

Cavalier GSi calipers

Mk2 Carlton 2.2 vented disks

EBC yellowstuff pads

standard GT/E drums rear

Interior -

Standard GT/E interior with all sound deadening removed (all interior trim in place)

OMP Steering wheel

Sparco Gear knob

Sabelt 2" 3 point harnesses

3 sets of wheels

5x Very good condition standard white GT/E wheels with centre caps fitted with 2 new Pirelli P6000 and 2 very good Yokohama A539(Spare never been used!)

4x Compomotive MO 16" fitted with new Yokohama C-drive (less than 500 Miles)

4x Silver GT/E wheels with very worn Yokohama A048R track tyres

The car is not concours condition (could be very easily), was built to be driven rather than polished but it is very good condition bodywise as the photos show there is a bit of corrosion to one rear wheel arch and the roof is starting to bubble, but it has not broken through the paint. mechanically nearly every component has been renewed or replaced within the last 5 years. Will be sold with lots of spare parts (including most parts to put it back to standard should you wish).

Mike, did you get chance to take any more pics, I genuinely am interested in the car, but the distance is an issue just for coming and taking a quick look....

Thanks,

Terry.

Terry,

I've just emailed you, sorry for the delay, it's been a busy weekend!

Thanks

Mike
