rayman Posted October 10, 2009 Share Posted October 10, 2009 Hi all Just a quick update on my project.Carport now finished and flagged so car in its new home .Problem with sticking brakes now sorted with new fluid,hoses and recon calipers but now has decided to mark its teritory by dropping its gearbox oil through the speedo drive all over the new flags.(wife well happy) New vinyl roof ,front and rear screen rubbers with inserts arrived from Dr Manta and seem good quality so will have to think about taking the old one off and opening a can of worms.Looking through a small hole it seems as its only surface rust ...until i touch it with the wire wheel Bought a weber 32/36 on ebay gave it a service ,fitted it to car and runs really well after making new linkages for choke and throttle but the weber is 25mm shorter than the solex so milling a spacer to fit on top of weber so can fit original filter How is it you can pick up a car from Sussex that hasn't moved for 5 years,drive it 250 mile home no problems,but as soon as you leave it a week and take a good look over you have to pull it in bits to try and improve it Will gets some pics on when roof off.
