mantadoc
Suggest a Rover forum might have more knowledge of your car

Rick-Manta
I'm sure a Rover Tomcat owner could be a potential club member of the OMOC!? Besides your problem doesn't sound model specific. The throwing forward would perhaps have been engine braking from being in a low gear with the engine cutting out. So, could be one of a thousand things, but check the cambelt, all ignition based electrics and fuelling. Anyway, all the best
deanosabby
Check to see if the fuel cut of switch has tripped, it should be under the dash and will cut off the fuel to the engine in case of a crash but might have tripped when the car threw you forward. Check your owners manual for its location. It might be here. HTH, Ta, Deano.
