73 manta a Posted December 21, 2009 Share Posted December 21, 2009 Hi, i am fairly new to the opel scene and have been lucky enough to get a manta a 1900sr in reasonable condition. It had had a webber carb fitted at some point and ive been running it for a while but its proved to be unreliable and uneconomical having still got a 4 speed box. i have got hold of a later gte engine and 5speed box, fitted them and then came to put the gte prop on and it is about 2 inch to long!Is there a standard prop that will fit? When I fitted 5speeder to mine I gave it to local machine shop who shortened it no probs-charged me a tenner I think. Didn't even need balancing....result. So you could try your local machine shop or try the adds in any of the classic car mags. Think Coverdale Carpets might still list an A carpet? John.
