Shuviteer
Yet ANOTHER car to show folk over value things !!!! Get real about prices will you. This will still be for sale at that price on the day I die !!!! Knock at least 5 grand off that and you might standv a chance of selling it. Just cos folk put things up for sale at a certain price, doesn't mean they are worth that, or even that they will SELL for that. Get real with prices folks, internet doesn't mean things are worth stupid money !!!!!!!!
2908642343
At the end of the day it is the seller who decides on the price. It is between the buyer and seller to agree the price. If the buyer is happy to pay the price then everyone is happy. John

adz the stig
once a again if some one wants it they'll buy it what ever the cost. tho at that price i would have thought it should have a redtop in it! but he could probily come down in price. blitzi
well i would say the guys car is worh that all day long if i had that kind of cash lying around at the mo i would have it as all the hard work has been done it must have cost at least 3k for the body work and i think all you guys are forgetting it was the irish lads thats invested the most the past couple of years in opel some of their cars are outstanding but this is getting to be like being back at school i dont think that anybody should be slating asking prices as it looks like a lot of time sweat and money went into this !!!! But I do agree that at that price,it would need to already have the 16V.No harm in asking a high price if your in no hurry to sell,as it only takes one buyer to want the car badly enough. adz the stig
one of you's said this before. if i wanted this car and i had the money i would buy it. and the paint job and body kit and work to do all that surely costed 6500 to do it in the first place. think of it this way if you did buy it. its a 1.8 so like someone has said already the bits are all there for a redtop. this car with a redtop in it would be in my eyes be worth short of 10k. once again nice car! Danny D114BCW
haha here we go again, if its a solid shell then its worth the money (becasue there are loads of Mantas knocking about), could do with more bits on it to justify the price but i dont think he is a million miles off with that price, each to their own and good luck with the sale nice car. " Personally I thought it was blunt, and his personal opinion, but would not deem that comment rude whatsoever, WoW you got a axe to grind, hehe, but i do know what you mean, my mate went to look at the black turbo xe manta A for sale on this forum and i thought it was over priced as well but every on here saying how cheap it is but its still there, and my mate went and saw it , said it was a death trap ,some thing anit wright with it front end its as if it dont belong to the car,was very funny he said with the seat belts on you cant reach the gear stick ,a few people have been to see it and run away, high prices nothing wronge with that but the goods have to live up to the prices, but you always got the odd idiot who anit got a clue who will buy them Now this chap has got 2 or 3 posts to his name and what top posts he has made, couldn't agree more with Robert's posts, as well as shuviteers tbh. Must say though, If this was dressed up in the Rothmans stripes/colours and had been built and dressed correctly (edit.. Not saying that it isn't) I would be wanting it big time, engine would not bother me as I would be trying to knock a good £600 off the price for fitting a good XE or a good 2.4 on carbs, repeat "trying" Now as this doesn't have the rothmans colours it does not appeal to me, but there are those out there that will be thinking the opposite,,,, the opportunity is there for someone that would kill for an Andrews heat for hire 400 replica. Nice to see a completed 400 replica in paint and with a running engine fitted, that you can get in and drive unlike a recent unpainted 400r that was up for sale at a similar price iirc One last thing I will add, is that ...... this site was nearly brought down by administrators treating members like children and not allowing people to voice simple (maybe blunt at times) personal opinions, really wouldn't see things like this happening again eh? Don't worry Clive, we did look twice at Robert's post, but like you, we deceied that he was not being nasty or "slaging off" the owner. He was relaying the information that he had received from his friend. yes it was a bit blunt but that was his freinds opinion. We want the forum users to give thier personal opinions and debate on the forum, that what it's for. All we ask is that you all voice your opinions in a freindly manner and bear in mind that everyone else also have personal opinions which may not be the same as yours. He He It's been rather quiet around here All opinions should be welcome My thoughts: 1) Good condition 1.8 coupe (2k at least) 2) Good pro repaint/transfers etc (2k) 3) 400 body kit (1k) That's about 5k, which doesn't included fitting the kit/wheels/injection system etc, the list is pretty much endless! If I was looking for a good complete rally type car then then 6k and a bit sounds good-too-cheap for me OR 1) Fair condition GT/E (1k) 2) Good pro repaint/transfers etc (2k) 3) 400 body kit (1k) 4) Replacement panels/gas/steel countless hours of welding (1k) 5) Gearbox/sump/engine mounts/pick-up etc (1k-0.8k) 5.8k without the wheels and another 1k spent on 'god knows what' 6.5k still sounds like a good deal [edit] however I would expect 'a very good car' for that price. MadManx
Had a wee skeet at this add this morning when the thread was started before all the post started flying I thought and still think its a fair price if the shell is as good as indicated. If I had the funds I'd be thinking how could I justify another car Let's face it as coupes get harder to source the price of a good example is only going to rise. Look how the Mk 1 escorts have gone over the years
399Road
I think the price of the Andrews car is cheap if it's a decent shell. You need to remember how much work will have gone into building something like like this as well as how much they've spent on parts/ wheels etc. The 1800 injection engine will still have more than enough power to hang the arse end out whenever you want to. 8 Valve Astra GTE's aren't a slow car are they? This car definately stands out, and the looks you'll get when driving it will easily be worth the asking price. I'm sure he will sell it easily at that price. adz the stig
you also have to think what 11 plate car could you get for 6500 that will put a smile on your face every morning. i would be pretty happy with my self owning this car ha ha. 399Road
Adz, If I spent £6500 on something like a Citroen C1 then the only way it would make me smile in the morning, is if I set fire to it! My mates new Mrs has just got one and when she came round the other day she said my old Ascona was a bit crappy! Gobby cow!
