mickappy
gearbox mount made up. i can say the mv6 box does fit the manta tunnel with no mods to shell, intercooler mounted. must be the easiest car the mount an intercooler in the world:) cant see no probs with pipes either should be quite simple to plumb turbo. mickappy
engine box and bodykit back off now. prepping for stone chipping inside and underside.. we also forgot to mod the bulk head for the rear heater pipe on the c20let head.. i know a few have asked what to do in this area si heres some pics. b4 cutting mark where your cutting, i took it right back to where it meets the bulk head, when cut seam weld where the bulkhead meets the shelf this leave plenty of room for the hose:) Edited June 3, 2014 by mickappy

mickappy
we managed to get the seat bars in amongst doing bodywork and prepping for paint, we also had a play about and made a shortened(quick shift) for the mv6 gearbox. these pictures show the clearance between the box and tunnel.. Retro Power
Looking good! Don't forget you can tint Raptor with 2k basecoat, so you can tint to match the rest of the car if you want.
mickappy
i didnt buy the tint version:( anyways i will paint it with car. got it on and it covers better than stone chip and its more textured. StevieH
What did you use on the underside Mick ? and it can be tinted to match the cars colour ?
mickappy
u pol rapter. u can get a tintable version which i dint:-( im going over it with 2pack colour. its loads better than stone chip.
Retro Power
Yep we use it on most customer restorations now. We're currently playing with it a bit, with a little thinning (2k thinners) it "should" be possible to get it through a very large nozzle in a primer gun, so we can get it on smooth(ish) but retain the incredible toughness of the stuff. We generally tint and don't overpaint. Overpaint will look great though, only downside is when the paint gets chipped you'll see the raptor, but that's not exactly a huge problem! Retro Power
Looking really good Mick!!! Nice to see one being done properly, will last and make a lovely car when its done, keep up the hard graft!! Ps looking at that engine mount I take it you are going for low mount turbo not top mount? personal preference but I'd go for top mount, its SO much easier to work on! They are a bitch to access when mounted on normal manifold!
mickappy
cheers mate, low turbo for now. hoping to uprate when run in and ive got more money. but for now its going to be a low turbo. not thought about there not been alot of room:( the cross members looking great now its nearly built. well worth the the money:)
