78manta Posted August 12, 2011 Share Posted August 12, 2011 (edited) It is with a very heavy heart I put my beloved 1978 Opel manta up for sale as the wife has decided to go and get herself pregnant I mean come on how selfish is that lol but no all joking aside if I could keep it I would but i now need a new daily driver as she wants her car bck and with the price of fuel and the distance I have to travel to work now it's not practical to use the manta and we cnt afford to run 3 cars it's a 1.9ltr berlinetta with around 113000 miles on the clock the car is taxed and tested until the end of Aug For most of the time iv owned the car it was driven daily until I moved home during that time other than a seized brake caliper due to this the car now has 2 new calipers other than this it never let me down even during the bad winter we had it was originally an auto but at some point it has been converted to a 5 speed manual the car has also been lowered using proper lowering springs and gaz shocks and sits on a set of 15" black racing split rim alloys (similar in style to a set of mini lights) all with good tyers it has a tidy black cloth interior with 6 dail dash and what I am lead to believe is an irmscher steering wheel Body wise There are some rust spots just starting to show on the rear arches and bottom of passenger how ever I'm told this is nothing major just cosmetic i had planned to take the car off the road when the tax runs out an give it a restoration and was planning to fit a red top or v8 but given the circumstances this is no longer possible There are a couple parts I have collected tht will go with the car that I had planned to fit I need to get back as much of what I paid for the car back as i can as like I say I need a new daily driver so it's £1800 ono or alternatively if anyone has another car they would be willing to swap for the manta then please let me know it's worth a try (looking for something fun) "> Edited August 14, 2011 by 78manta Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Can you get pictures of the usual rust spots (inner wings, chassis swan necks)?
