As most of you are aware, my C20XE conversion is nearing completion, so time to build an exhaust system.

I have 2" Scorpion 3 box system off a GTE I intend to retrofit onto the C20XE. Currently its a 3 box system (back box, centre box and the long skinny front box which sits just behind the down pipe.

What do you guys with a C20XE normally run? I'm thinking the 3 boxes could be restrictive, so considering replacing the front box with a straight pipe? Quite keen to have a nice exhaust note too, but don't want it too noisy.

Whats your thoughts, 2 box or 3?

Can't comment on the XE, but my Cav coupe runs a 1.9 CIH with a two box system and sounds lovely. My old Sportshatch (2.0 CIH) only had the centre box the whole time I had it but didn't sound very loud either...

The first one I did had a single box you could see right through. That sounded nice but never went as well as it should. Second one I had was a bodged up 2 box system which sounded lovely and went well

I have a performance front-pipe(GTE) and there is no resonator box in it....I thought all sports systems done away with it ?

What are you doing regards manifold?

John.

Ashley manifold fitted.

Looking at all the replies, 2 box seems to be the way to go!!

:thumbup I'm happy
