Silverbrookes Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 Hi all... I am new here, have just bought a 1972 Opel Manta A which had been lurking in an old ladies garage for the last 20 years, it is a 1900 automatic. I plan to take it racing, still looking in to my options, rallying, track days, hill climbs etc... I am getting the car through an mot first but am planning a full strip and rebuild, any advice on which gearbox and diff to change to? Was thinking ZF 5 speed box and ZF LSD??? I also need to know what the regulations are in classic car racing as to how far you can go with tuning the engine, anyone know where I can get all this information? Thanks... Quote
Shug Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 Jock has a manta B with an xe on carbs that he races in hill climbs. Best bet is to go to the association whose events you want to run in and ask. What engine were you planning? Quote
