Safety crumple zones front and rear, remote control driver’s door mirror, deep front air spoiler, tailgate mounted spoiler, sill extensions in body-coloured plastic, rev counter, voltmeter, oil pressure gauge, water temperature gauge, Recaro seats, three spoke padded sports steering wheel, push-button mono radio cassette player with three speakers, headlamps-on warning buzzer, quartz clock, front door pockets, illuminated glovebox, underbonnet lamp, laminated windscreen, bronze tinted glass all round, opening rear quarter windows, rectangular halogen headlamps, GT/E lettering.

EXTERIOR

This original Manta GT/E is finished in Polar White, (code 452) and retains a beautiful deep gloss finish. The weak points of this model are all perfectly sound but there is evidence where the fastidious owner has touched in some areas with a touch up pen. The sunroof area is perfect having been preserved by garage storage from new and there are no scuffs to the bumpers. The supplying Opel Dealer, (J.B Motors in Malton), rear window sticker is still present along with the rear number plate. The front number plate is an Opel Manta Owners Club issue due to the owners active membership.

INTERIOR

The fully reclining stylish Recaro rally-style front seats are finished in the two tone Anthracite Grey and other than the drivers bolster show no wear. The full sports instrumentation giving at-a-glance monitoring works impeccably. All the headlining is tight and clean, door cards, rear parcel shelf, plastic switches and knobs are damage free and perfect. The original Phillips radio stereo cassette player is still fitted and the quartz clock keeps time. Two period accessories have been fitted; a driver and passenger cup holder attached to the transmission tunnel and an internal temperature gauge. The floor is protected by four rubber mats. A truly 80’s experience.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION

A 2.0i cam-in-head 4-cylinder engine producing 110bhp is smooth, responsive and with 119.5lb/ft of torque pulls wonderfully. Having covered just 69,501 miles the car performs beautifully. The Bosch LE Jetronic fuel injection system offers fantastic fuel economy and performance giving a top speed of 120mph combined with maintenance free electronic ignition and hydraulic tappets reliability is excellent and running costs low. A period sports exhaust system offers a truly addictive exhaust note and combined with the slick 5-speed gearbox this example is tremendous fun.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES

This vehicle it fitted with the factory correct undamaged white road wheels which are 6”X14” with as new branded tyres. The dual circuit servo assisted brakes offer excellent feel and pull the car up quickly and safely in a straight line.

HISTORY FILE

Supplied new to a Mr Brown in Malton on the 27^th May 1987 by J.B Motors Vauxhall/Opel Dealers this stunning car has only had the one enthusiast owner from new. An incredibly particular gentleman who has carefully logged every item of work carried out to the car in a diary which will be presented to the new owner. As a keen and active member of the Opel Manta Owners Club this car will be remembered for entering many display shows it attended and again the rosettes for its success will be given to the new owner.

The service book is still located in the correct holder in the passenger foot well and the vehicle has 12 Months MOT.
