Fermanta
Has anyone got a manta handy that can check (or even better get a pic) of the rear stabiliser bar? I'm getting exhaust sorted and it looks as if mine may be on upside down? If it was the other way there would be more room for manoeuvering lol! There is abend in it & mine has the bend on the top if that makes sense: (The bar on the left) Or maybe someone can think of a photo on here showing it. Thanks! opelmantagsi
that looks like a front sway / stabiliser bar hanging on the right the bar on the far left is a "rear control arm", the top goes onto the axle end, these are handed left and right so need to go on the correct side Edited July 5, 2012 by opelmantagsi
Fermanta
This is the car here lads: It's the bar in front of rear axle as we look at it. It appears to be too high? Edited July 5, 2012 by Fermanta
opelmantagsi
left hand end to the axle. you should be able to tell the handing by the direction of the hand brake cable retainers, imagine the cable as a triangle and how it clips in to the brackets welded on the sides clips are on the bottom of the bar, so the one above is upside down like a puzzle / quiz just what I needed before going to bed Edited July 5, 2012 by opelmantagsi
Kevin Abbott
The short part of the bar goes to the axle and points up. The tang for the handbrake cable points down. They are also handed ;-)

Fermanta
Ah sorry I thought it was the stabiliser bar. I've just been told that when they are lowered sometimes it needs to be bent. Sorry for the confusion & thanks for all the help!
opelmantagsi
you might need to look into getting it made so its adjustable.
bones
You could do with making the panhard rod adjustable as opelmantagsi suggested , I cut and welded a threaded insert and fitted a rose joint to one end of mine.
