The General
I have a problem with the heater fan, as the discription explains it make this clucking sound that was described by my wife as sounding like a chicken! Can we get a modern alternative that fits? was the heater motor used in other vauxhalls/ Opels?
Mick
Sounds normal to me. A drop of oil onto the bearing will fix it. Just remove the outer cover and lube the end of the shaft in the housing....sorted.

mantadoc
Sometimes oil sorts it out for a bit. Depends if what you are actually hearing is due to excessive endfloat / wear in which case it's often the commutator on a step in the brushes. My answer above is a good one for giving a decent blower with the power the original Manta one never had that will last when you have gone through all your old ones like I had.
