Mickfrad
Hi I need a manifold bolt for a cih and am having no luck sourcing one locally. Anybody have one laying in the bottom of a box of bits or know where I could get one from. Any help appreciated Thank you Mick
611
Hi Mick I have a couple lying about that you can have. They are very hard to get it seems, got mine off of German ebay. I will dig them out tomorrow and send you a picture to make sure its waht you want. Andy
Cavtastic
I replaced mine with 10mm stainless steel cap screws.
Mickfrad
Hi andy, yes the size does seem to be rare it's a 9 x 1.25 thread about 30 mm long with a large washer and 15 mm head if that's what you have it would be very helpful. Plenty of m8 and m10 bolts around but nothing in between. Who would have thought sorting out a blowing exhaust would prove to be so difficult. Hi cavtastic sorry not sure what cap screws are I'm assuming you had to helicoil to use 10mm bolts. Bit of a last resort to replace 1 missing bolt. Unless its to replace with torx or Allen key bolts which would probably make fitting easier. I'm hoping not to have to remove it to often. Thanks for your replies Mick
611
Hi Mick I think its a combination of size and thread that makes them hard to get. The ones i have are the standard bolt head, i replaced mine with the hex head ones as i dont have the space to do up the bolt head type as i have a custom exhaust manifold with not much room :-) but the old bolt type you can give them a bit more tightening up unlike those hex ones where you have to go a bit steadier!! Will look first thing tomorrow as had to be at work early today but have tomorrow off. Andy
