kontraman
Hello to all of you from Greece. I've seen some amazing Ascona and Manta and your site so i made the decision to post a new thread of our racing Ascona.Owns a close friend and he is building the car with our help the last few years. At the first picture is the first look at blue subaru colour and 16' white wheels.Made some races at 230bhp. The chassis was at very good condition, but the owner decided that good is not enough... lol So he striped out the car and started again from the beggining. We placed bigger extensions wings type 400 higher than the usuall,as we wanted to lower the car and put 17" wheels. We also put wilwood pedal box. Big 4pot pistons calipers brakes 320mm at the front and 4 small pot pistons caliper with bells and curved vane rotors. The spec list is long. Some of them... C20XE 4throtle direct QED 13 c/r wossner pistons arrow con rods cams hydraulic lifts bigger QED valves QED double valve spribgs Coscast head cnc superflow machined SBD BTB big manifold exhaust SBD dry sump kit gearbox Quaiffe ZF original Opel motorsport differential 75% KW suspension competition coil over fron-rear,full adjustable 17" image wheels (2 different sets) DTA S60 275 BHP The engine is placed lower and moved closed to the driver. After all theese modofication, this is the look of the car now. I have some better fots, but i have some troubles at uploading...i am not exactlly pc expert...lol

kontraman
Theese fotos are fron the 2ond race. We had great battles with one of the best's Escort MKII and champion some years ago,an ex BTCC Nissan Primera,ex BTCC Mazda 323... The Ascona finished in 3rd place of the race and 1st in his class! It did an incredible time of 1.07" when Peugeot 106 KIT CAR made 1.08'', Nissan Primera ex BTCC 1.06,5''. The final drive is not that it needs for theese tracks as it too long and the body of the car weights too much. The Escort was 70 kilos lighter! For this reason we started to build carbon parts to reduce the weight to the limits of the class. I hope you enjoy the fotos... :
kontraman
This is our 3rd race Our Ascona had after a long time another race-circuit. Actually it's not a real track but an army airport...! No problem for us as long the aircrafts do not try to land to the track...lol Our class had a lot of competition with a lot powerfull cars FORD ESCORT MK II A lot of OPEL ASCONA 200 OPEL KADETT GTE (THE FASTER N/A CAR!) MITSUBISHI EVO VIII (THE WINNER) FORD SIERRA COSWORTH FORD SIERRA RS 500 FORD SIERRA COSWORTH RS 500 BMW 325 i FORD ESCORT COWORTH FORD ESCORT WRC LANCIA DELTA INTEGRALE MAZDA 323 F BTCC We had to make a 3 hour trip to get to the track with 2 racing cars to out team, the Ascona and a new Opel Corsa A (Nova) KIT CAR 16cc X16XE throttle body 220bhp with sequential gearbox. At the first run we saw that the tires were not good for this track and before we decide what to do the driver had a littLe accident. The car was not injured, but we had a broken driveshaft, which damaged the differential. We were ready to return home, but the mechanic of the team droped the idea. Returning home,to put the other differential we had to the 2nd race Ascona and the other morning again to the track. So the Saturday night again to the garage after 3 hours trip, working on the car untill 4 in the morning. 2 hours sleep and again to the track with the new diff, which was not the ideal for this track, as it is 5.1. So Panos the driver magaged to race, he began the race from the last position as we missed the qualifying. He did a nice race, with a good time thinking the problems we faced and finishing in 4rth place at the N/A class and in the middle of general class. And here some fotos before and after the race. Υ.Γ.Next race i will race my Astra Gsi turbo in GTCC class! Saturday morning: Track: Ascona damaged:
