Mickfrad Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Hi Decided to become a fully paid up member, as I seem to be spending quite a lot of time on here since buying a 88 gte exclusive coupe before Christmas. I am not new to manta ownership having previously owned a 1.8s berlinetta in the early 90's. Which sadly had to go as it didn't go with the pushchair and baby seat. I was looking for a rolling restoration project to use as an everyday car. I found one on ebay with tax and mot which had issues, but i could go and get it and drive home. It took me about five weeks to sort out the welding and running problems to get it to a point where I can now use it daily. It now has another 12 months mot with a list of advisories but all easily sorted. Still lots to do, mainly bodywork, replacing missing parts etc and then hopefully paint in the summer. I am also a member of club triumph and run a 1972 triumph spitfire running a dolomite sprint engine. Which sadly has been abandoned in the garage, waiting for me to do the list of jobs I have over winter. So other than the few bits I have got to sort out on the manta it's time to get on with the triumph.Just Incase the sun decides its going to start making regular appearances. Thanks for reading Mick Quote
Mickfrad Posted February 20, 2013 Author Posted February 20, 2013 Thanks Is it owning the cars that makes us mad or do we need to be slightly mad to buy them in the first place ? Quote
