biffy1984
Hi Does anybody have a good quality 400 bonnet for sale? My one is now all burst around the hinges and rubbing the scuttle panel when I open it. I can't be arsed to botch it up again. Otherwise who can supply a decent new one? Are the Rallytech ones any use? I'd rather hear from those who have actually bought one. Cheers.

biffy1984
Good stuff. Any idea on price? Their website doesn't have prices so I requested a quote earlier on today but havn't heard back yet...
garymanc
was £225.00 that was in 2009 though
biffy1984
A bit dearer as I was expecting but if it's of really good quality it'll be worth it. Is there a catch moulded into the fibreglass so you can use the bonnet cable instead of pins? It looks like you only have 1 pin on your bonnet Gary??? mantasrme
The rallytech ones are the best, you can use the original catch and hinges without the bonnet flopping around at speed. Have seen (and owned) several different cheaper ones and they all need double pins at the front to keep them down, and some still try to lift in the middle over 40mph
garymanc
there are 2 bolts holes moulded in the bonnet and bigcliff makes a custom made catch i only have one bonnet pin due to forgeting to close the bonnet and it came up about 60 mph so its there just incase i forget again
biffy1984
Thanks for the replys. Think I'll have to hold off till I get the rest of the car sorted though, got the quote back from Rallytech, Bonnet is £394 but they will give me a discount of £94 so £300 for the bonnet, £100 for shipping and £80 VAT so iI'm looking at nearly 500 quid. Think the steel one will go on for the meantime
Kevin Abbott
And to think a couple of years ago at billing I couldn't get £150 for my spare RALLYTECH bonnet after 3 days, so I brought it home. Gave it to a mate after that.
biffy1984
Yeah just typical. I'd happily pay £150 if anybody else has a spare Rallytech one.
