Steering Column Assy Help

Guys, just ready to fit my steering column but can't remember if there is a spring or something helping retain the lower bearing?

If anybody can take a photo of the steering column to UJ in the engine bay it would be appreciated.

yes there is a spring between the bearing and the uj,got a spare one if you need it.

I have a spring but not sure if it's he right one, if you could measure its free length and diameter I an check against the one I have?

The lower bearing spring dimensions of a second hand one I have here are:

free length of 36mm

outside diameter of 24mm

Thickness of steel 2mm

and is 4 1/4 coils in total

Thanks guys, I have the right spring and worked out where I was going wrong see photo. The steering shaft was extended out giving me the problem of too arge a gap. Eventually remembered and slid it back into the column so I know where I am going now. Just a bit cleaning and painting needed first.
