1.9E Engine

Can someone provide some info about 1.9E engines in those classic Opels? I found some information on the internet, but it confuses me because it says that all came with fuel injection. My car, '77 Manta B (originally 1.6S) has 1.9E stamped on the current engine but with varajet II on top of it. I think it could be 1.6S head with carb on top of 1.9E engine block, but I don't know how to check that out.

Best regards, Christian

Alright, car is almost done and now I'm back to servicing the engine. I removed rocker cover today and checked the number under it. Turns out it's a 2.0S head, on top of a 1.9E block. I don't have any service manual, so does anyone have any useful links or specification sheets for adjusting valves? I already adjusted them on cold engine one to 0.015 mm and the other to 0.020 mm as someone who used to service these cars said to me, but I want to make sure.

Nevermind... I pulled it out once again, and thoroughly inspect it and it's definetley solid, I thought it was hydraulic because of the oil notches, but this one is definetly solid one piece, so obviously someone had to change that at some point. So I put evething back together and started the engine and it runs much better than before, so I guess this means case closed. Thanks for the support, I really appriceate it!
