611 Posted July 5, 2013 Share Posted July 5, 2013 Do you know if you can get new alternators for the CIH engine? Just got round to putting mine on and thought it would be nice to get a new one! Think the one i have is off a B series as running a bigger battery so i dont know if they do a 65ah one? (battery is 70ah as the old engine use to need a bit to fire it up!) i dont know much about alternators spec wise. Can i get one off another model like a carlton that had CIH 2.2? Scribe of Lincoln Posted July 8, 2013 Share Posted July 8, 2013 Hi Andy, It was a Lucas LRA860. I just trusted in the "engine type" and got the right one. This was for a 1600 CIH, however I think that the same alternator also fits the 2.0 CIH - looks the same as the one on my 2.0B. Hope this helps!
