Hi, I was wondering If anyone had the raised tunnel section from a 5speed manta??

I'm putting a 5 speed gearbox into a mk1 cavalier and need to cut the floor out to accommodate the box.

And if possible, can it be posted/courier ?

I'm in south Ayrshire - ka10 6ru

Thanks for looking

The 5 speed box will fit without cutting the tunnel, but basically you've got two options. You either need a massive section of tunnel that includes the mounting points for the rear crossmember, as the 5 speed boxes are slightly longer and mount at slightly different points, or speak to paulmanta on here. He does some very nice custom made shorter gearlever linkages so there's no need to cut the tunnel, just reuse the original gearlever and modify your existing box crossmember to suit.

Personally I'd say the second option's much easier, looks standard as well :)

Bung me a PM, I have one short shifter bracket left.

I fitted one to my Ascona and you could not tell it had a 5 speed box in it, looked standard inside so I decided to have a few made for other members, lots of people have done it now and it is easier than doing a tunnel and you wont need a new centre console either.
