rutthenut Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 Anyone have a sump guard that fits the Manta B or GT/E, or have patterns/dimensions to have one manufactured? 1
mantasrme Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 I'm pretty sure i have at least one spare sumpguard in the garage, i'll have a look at the weekend and get some pics. One certainly is the long works style

One certainly is the long works style That'd be handy. The sump/crossmember area on my car doesn't seem as though it should be an issue for a standard sump guard. The mounting cross-member for it could need a bit of work to clear something but that's fair enough. The downpipes may also need a bit of clearance too. Still prefer to start with a unit that does fit and make any mods needed to work around the V8 installation if required.

mantasrme Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 Sorry, i seem to be getting pretty useless at remembering to do stuff Anyway some pictures of the one i've found. Its very heavy duty shaped for the manta and mounts to the lower radiator support, then the crossmember bellow the rack, and also at the back edges (needs brackets that attach to the rear outriggers) Its double skinned for the main body, and cut away at both rear corners for exhaust clearance for either cih or ohc engines Double thickness This was used on a road rally manta that was often down derbyshire whites without any damage geting through. Ideal for forest use or tarmac. More than strong enough to jack on anywhere (it won't bend!) Not sure what postage would cost or how to wrap it as its very heavy, collection would be easier for me but whatever can be sorted. Looking for £80 for it. 1
Autocrosser Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 I'm looking for one as well if you have anymore going spare?

Looking for £80 for it. All have plenty of things that we fail to remember! Think that unit would do just fine for me. Not sure how/when I could collect. Might be able to get a courier to pick it up. Definitely appreciate it if you put my name on it. Will sort out payment and collection/delivery via pm/email if that's ok. Regards, John
