Barn Find 2Dr Cav

Recommended Posts

A couple of years back I found this Cavalier languishing in a garage near me. I tried tracking down the owner but gave up, and eventually found out that another local member, Chris, had been offered it by the owner anyway. He wasn't very interested and in the end I decided it probably wasn't worth dragging out for the money the owner wanted for it either.

Someone dragged it out anyway!

Mr Virco, think this is one for you?

Don't think this will sell very easily, after all it's only a door door base model Cav! lols

Might even match MK1 Escort project money? Probably see it at Billing next year with a Ascona front end glued to it, and it will be on different plates. It might even be an Ascona!!

A bit sad but at least it will survive. Amazing that their still out there waiting to see day light. Hopefully a club member will buy it and keep us informed on a project spread.

Love the ad - 'try finding another !!!!!!!!!'

I brought two 2 door Mk1 Cavaliers out of the UK last year - none with any damage and both on the button, and never gave more than £200 for either of them. Also turned down a third one but it was too far gone.

They are out there - just need to find them........

I haven't got space, this is a 1600 and there are two or three preserved, the two door me and my friend Richard Watt saved was a 1256cc engined one and we think it is the last one left, unless of course you know different.

It is surprizing how many of these 'Extinct' two doors keep cropping up, last month there was a MOT'd one in the classic auction at Kings Lynn.

Looks like it will go for around 900 quid, so whatever he's dreaming is going his way, and who can blame him, he's not forcing the money out of the bidders. The only one who has lost out here is Rob, very unusual for you Mate!! a man of your knowledge!

wow there are a lot of people out there with too much money and that haven't been to specsavers ....

Totally agree but good luck to whoever buys it as it has not been forced upon them.

I was offered an unmolested 2 door rhd Ascona b about a week ago needing nowt so ready for summer driving. Told the guy who owned it that he was away in the head price wise but after seeing what this is making it makes the Ascona sound cheap. Think its time to hook on the car transporter......
