1987 (D) White Opel Manta GT/E Hatchback (Sunroof) with C20XE (Red Top) Conversion

· 6 months tax.

· 8 months MOT (November 2013).

Located Westhoughton, Bolton.

With regret, I’m putting my Manta up for sale. I’ve owned the car for just over four years now and it has been used weekly throughout. I’m sure you all know how fun the C20XE’s make the Manta, it always puts a smile on my face when I drive it.

Prior to my purchase the car was on a rolling road and registered 170BHP.

However, down to a lack of workspace due to a recent house move, and the need for a full time car due to the kids, I no longer have the time or space to restore the car. I bought the Manta from the forum with the intention of it being a rolling restoration to an excellent condition, but time has been sparse and I’ve just been keeping the car maintained and on the road with the odd modification along the way. It’s time it got the TLC that it deserves.

The car’s in fairly good condition given its age and being largely unrestored - It has its faults, but only to be expected of a 27 year old unrestored car.

Modifications prior to my purchase:

· C20XE conversion.

· Twin headlight conversion.

· Lowered 40mm.

· Interior underfelt removed.

· K&N filter.

· 16” Compomotive alloys.

· Exhaust.

Here’s what’s been done over the few years:

· Main headlamp units replaced (twin headlight conversion already done when I bought it).

· N/S & O/S wings removed and ‘A’ pillars repaired.

· Windscreen washer tray repaired.

· Heater matrix/blower installed in cabin plumbed in through bulkhead (Lotus 7 style compact heater unit).

· 16” Compomotive alloys shot blasted and re-sprayed.

· New fuel pump.

· Replacement AFM.

· Replacement crank shaft sensor.

· Various replacement interior panels.

· Hatchback gas shocks replaced.

· Chassis repairs.

· Foot well repairs.

I don’t want to waste people’s time and give them the wrong impression that the car is mint, it’s not, but it’s fairly good condition. So, to aid in not wasting anyone’s time here are the bad bits:

· Usual bubbling around sunroof.

· Usual bubbling on rear arches.

· Exhaust is OK but will need some attention probably later this year.

· Windscreen wiper comes on immediately at ignition, have to move the switch a few times to turn it off (This has only just started happening and I think it’s just the relay).

· Roof lining will need some attention (Clean, but has two tears).

I’ve taken some pictures over the weekend and uploaded them to my Flickr stream here:

I’m asking £1900 o.n.o. for it, please feel free to PM me if you have any further questions or would like to arrange a viewing.

Cheers,

Terry.
