Quick Shift Kits For Standard 5-Speed Gearbox (Getrag 240)

Recommended Posts

Finally we have ready the first batch of the long awaited 5-speed quick shift kits!

The kit includes every part of the shifter assembly, even the mounting bolts, so none of the original parts are required.

It features a Laser cut and TIG welded mounting plate with a zinc plated finish, and a solid aluminium gear knob to give a nicely weighted shift.

In short it makes the gearshift fell extremely positive, and includes all the parts, so no mucking about with old/dirtly bits!

Price is £155 including delivery to mainland UK.

My quick shift arrived today, shame I won't be able to put it to use for a few months.

Sutty, good news - the gear knob is removable so you can go ahead and order one!

Got to pay my car insurance on friday, and tax the disco in may.... and ive just taxed the manta and the Yank.... and theres a slipper axle up for grabs that ive been wanting since the dinosaurs died off, sooooooooooooo its a mind over heart decision at the mo!

these are even better in the flesh!

two now in New Zealand one for me and the other for Jason in the South Island

"top quality" does not even come close to describing how well made these are. The weighted gear knob alone is simply brilliant.

VERY happy to have another stunning Retropower custom made item for my Manta

They should be the same. It is only the bell housing of the 5 speed gearboxes that are different. The internals are the same.

good question! Never done it so don't know, but if it fits in an A series with the standard getrag shifter then yes, as this puts the stick in the standard position

If you cut the transmission tunnel, otherwise the lever needs moved forward and linkage cut, by about 3 - 4"

Has anybody fitted one of these? I fancy one but don't want to lose the feel of the gearbox as quick shifters I've tried before can be a bit brutal and be like a switch and doesn't feel great.

I don't think these will be but it's quite a bit of effort to fit and cost, any thoughts welcome.

I've fitted one to my car, unfortunately can't tell you what it's like to use as my car won't be moving for another couple of months.

It's not that difficult to fit, I had more hassle removing the old one.

As for the price - you get what you pay for, in this case a high quality and well made product.
