You will have to put up some details bud, as per forum rules :)

Advertised elsewhere and offered abroad too.

If you know the car, then pictures not required. It won best pre 1975 Griffin trophy in 2011 at Billing.

I'm looking for a reasonable amount given it's 8 year gestation.

PM me please.

^ It's not the personally knowing the car or yourself at all, it's the rules of the forum to have details in the advert. Plus I'm sure some people who haven't would certainly like to hear about it anyway.

??? When I had stuff for sale in the past I was reminded to follow the forum rules. Price etc... Nice car. Would be good to know what it would cost. Price Seems to be shrouded in mystery. Sorry to moan a wee bit. :-)

Thats harsh Rick.

i don't know what the value of Commy A's is but i think it should be at least this price, OK we all think Manta's should have more value than they sell for but i know this car very well having spent many hours under the bonnet of it myself and i can testify that this Commy is in truely exceptional condition, it really has been restored top to bottom, there is no part of this car you could improve upon

The Commodore A GSE was an exceptional car for it's time, this example was built in 1971, as standard it has Bosch fuel injection, ( very like whats seen in a Manta, just an earlier version ) on the 2.5L six cylinder engine and in standard tune produces 160 bhp. put that into perspective, the average family car was an 1100cc Escort Popular !! The Commy was faster than the contempory Porsche 911 !! never marketed in the UK, in Europe it is well reguarded as something special helped by racing success, European saloon car racing in the early seventies was dominated by Stienmetz Commodores.

Stones aren't rare, this definitely is. You'd pay well over £3000 for a GS coupe that needs some restoration and then, if it's come from the continent you've got to ship it too. Resto costs are high because of the trim and panel replacement costs, Plus this isn't a German built car, so I guess you have to be serious if you want to consider buying it ;-) !

Ok, it's now going on wider circulation for sale, thought I'd give OMOC members first dibs.

Cheers,

Simon.

Point taken.

See 'Commodore Project Underway' in 'Your Project' section for details. Basically if is was broken or damaged it was replaced. This has been a long journey and I am reluctantly selling.

Cheers,

Simon.

I think Rick's point was that getting a price (or any detail at all) out of Simon for the car was like getting blood from a stone, not a comment on the price itself.

Yes, that's right  ...but in all seriousness, the car is an absolute beauty, where it's rarity and one off features would pretty much make it priceless anyway. I hope you find a buyer but it's a shame you have to sell it and you seem very proud of it, of course we've all been there!
