Jack
Hi Stephen, is this your first time on this Club? If so, welcome! Sounds like a very nice project, where did you find this Manta from? I know of every one for sale on the internet but not seen a White Exclusive. Sounds like a very big job if it's a total rebuild, good luck with it!! You will find an infinite amount of advice and knowledge on this Club so don't worry about that. :-) Jack.

stephenlevin1620
Hi jack, Iv'e been on the site for quiet some time, following build threads and so on. Will be becoming an officially paid omoc member this week The car came up for sale around 3 weeks ago on a Irish site(donedeal) was advertised less than an hour, got the first viewing of it and snapped it up. It was basically fully stripped when I bought it bar engine and gearbox so got a good look at it, Seems a very solid car overall, floors, roof, battery try, sills, arches all solid but like all mantas needs slight attention on swan necks, boot floor ect Iv'e been busy putting the car back together the past few days bit of a waste of time but really wanted to see what I had, and I all I can say is am delighted Its a car I plan on keeping for a long time so its going to be a full rebuild and cant wait to get stuck in.
Jack
Hi Stephen, Nice to know your becoming an officially paid up member and I have to say the pictures of your Manta look great with it all put back together. If your planning on keeping it for a very long time then a full strip down and rebuild is just what it needs and actually if it was me I would be scared. (not saying that to put you off but just me personally would be very intimidated by the job ahead) In terms of restoring a Car, meaning a full nut and bolt restoration I have very limited knowledge. But it is the Manta that got me into the whole restoration thing and when I left school I completed a course in Bodywork for Cars and the mechanical side as well. Have you got another Manta that you can use while your Coupe is been worked on? (you might find that you need another one to drive as your Manta appetite might kick in strongly.) Jack. Julian
Welcome. Vey wise move joining this club, cos what you intend doing entails a lot of work, and I doubt if there are many who cold complete a project like that without the wealth knowledge that this club has to offer, I can't think of any other way to spend 25 quid and get so much back in return. Best of luck. looks a nice car.
spike
Looks like it will make a nice car.I'm doing a similar job on mine just now.The biggest problem i've had so far has been caused be poor repairs done years ago.Just keep thinking what you'll end up with and that gets you through the bad days. Where did you get the chassis rails from? Thats next on my list. Best of luck with it. Cheers Spike
