kenny dock
http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C529075 Does anyone know this car or how clean it might be? Kenny dock
plumster
Mmm, dunno but it will have to be pretty tidy to reach the 5.5 - 6k estimate.
kenny dock
i was thinking it will not go for that.. surely, but i would make an offer if its worth travelling for. kenny dock
robah
I would say max of approx. 4K imo, if as decent as it looks. But would probably look at 3.5k max for myself (just start the ball rolling) Probably worth asking someone close by to look at it maybe Miss_p if it is close to her
MANTAMAN
If this Manta is as good as it looks, I.E. immactulate, then it should be at least £4K, depends if there is a reserve on it and what that is. As for someone viewing it, Kay (aka miss_p) lives near Cromer (though has Norwich on her avatar ?) thats a fair jaunt from Kings Lynn and has Kay ever scrutinized a Manta before? I know someone who is going to the auction who works for a classic car insurers, he knows how to spot a good car from a bodge-up but then the morning of the Auction is too late to be told it's good to set off from Paisley ! not sure if you can view the cars for auction before the morning of the sale, if you can then you'll have to twist the arm of Steve Hancock, aka 1900SR, kings Lynn isn't too far from the wild marshes of south Lincolnshire ( where Christianity has yet to reach.. )

NEIL W
Kenny - see this thread on the car for sale in Norfolk : Opel Manta Owners Club - Classified Adverts - Ebay Ads / Free stuff / Trades - 1800 Coupe For Auction. I went down to see a few cars at Kings Lynn before coming up to Glasgow to see yours. It took me 4 hrs from York, as after the A1, when you turn off to go cross country to Kings Lynn it is single carrage way. So an 8 hrs run down for you. It is Lot 65 so at approx 20 per hour will be later on in the afternoon.

1900SR
not sure if you can view the cars for auction before the morning of the sale, if you can then you'll have to twist the arm of Steve Hancock, aka 1900SR, kings Lynn isn't too far from the wild marshes of south Lincolnshire ( where Christianity has yet to reach.. ) Hmm, caught a Jehovas Witness putting literature through my door this morning, so Christianity is trying it's best to reach us. At least they don't try and engage you in conversation these days, in fact she was quite shocked when I opened the door ( was on my way out) and couldn't run away fast enough! As for the Manta, a friend viewed it Saturday morning and said it was very good, even still got the card radiator tray. 1900SR
This Manta is now on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/OPEL-MANTA-BERLINETTA/271589287249?_trksid=p2047675.c100010.m2109&_trkparms=aid%3D555012%26algo%3DPW.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D24435%26meid%3D50ff08c790c24822bd3d0e839f98fd14%26pid%3D100010%26prg%3D9173%26rk%3D12%26rkt%3D24%26sd%3D301299430517
robah
Anyone on here bidding for it, does look nice and bringing up a good price Good luck to whoever is bidding
MANTAMAN
Auction has ended with no bids, perhaps found a buyer and ended it early the last photo in the E-bay listing shows it infront of Bridge Classic Cars, on the sign says 'classic vehicle resoration specialist' so that is probably why it looks so good. Rapierdave
I suspect because it was listed with no reserve & had only got to around £2500 with one day to go that the owner got cold feet & ended early because it was likely to have only got to £3000-£4000 not the £5000-£6000 the owner wanted. Of course i could be wrong & as Ian said someone may have offered a good price to end the listing early. It did look a very nice original car
Toe
Lived in Ipswich all my life and this is the first time I've seen "Bridge Classic Cars". Know where it is in town and was a normal run of the mill garage until the last 6 months or so. Dunno if it'll appear again in the future, will keep an eye out and see what happens. Hello by the way, been a lurker for a while quietly looking at getting hold of a Manta but my first love is a Monza (after my true love of course, a Saab 900 Turbo ) Edited September 3, 2014 by Toe
