Hi guys, my 78 1.6 Cav has been absolutely brill as a daily driver since Christmas. I'm just keen to sort a slightly annoying running issue - it stutters on steady throttle. When the condensor failed (didn't know it was this as it was a brand new part) the AA checked the dizzy and reckoned it was ok play wise. It's also averaging 21mpg (relatively heavy foot last tank but still - may as well still have my XJ6!) It encourages me to press on because cruising at steady throttle can be frustrating

Condenser usually cause for stuttering once hot & the inside of the condenser breaks up, if it's not that, check earthing strap etc.

Other than that, could it fuel???

One of the anoraks will be on soon....

Well its not just when it's hot it's just ask the time. It's not awful but I'd like it sorted! I doubt it's the condensor - I had major condensor issues using eBay ones, then the AA replaced it with an old British one and its been great since.
