What is it ?

Hi

Can anyone tell me what this is used for please ,stripped the car years ago and cant remember. Its the rear nearside wheel arch of an A series.

If it’s the bracket spot welded on to your inner wheel arch then it’s possibly an anchor point for seatbelts if you wanted to fit them, if not usually there will be a plastic blanking plug pushed in to seal the threads and keep water from getting inside your car. Got this on my Manta b and it came without rear seatbelts from factory, but can retrofit if needed.

It’s also a common place for rust, i had to drill out the spot welds, repair the inner wing with a new steel patch then reinstated the bracket just to keep originality, the car never had rear seatbelts and I don’t intend to fit them but the bracket I wanted to keep. 👍
