Manta Rallye A series

Recommended Posts

Hello, I've just bought my 1973 Opel Manta Rallye project in light blue, it's a two owner car with 70k on the clock. It's a left hand drive Californian import that has sun bleached paint work and an interior that's been turned to dust by the sun over the years.

It's safely tucked away in my garage and I'll start to get it road worthy again, starting next weekend.

I'll post some pics in the next day or two.

Great news, another A series 🙂 Looking forward to some pics as not seen it on eBay.

If you need any A series parts links i have a few on my blog that might help.

I also have a few workshop manual sections on there and have the original workshop manual so if you do need any info let me know as i can easily scan any sections. Its a bit more in depth than the haynes one.

Hi welcome also. A left hand drive? Will you rebuild it to a right hand drive?

Succes with the rebuild!

Good project then if it doesn’t need much welding!

Hi TaytoKing, the car 's body looks great. The Californican sun has done his thing to the intirieur!

Noticed the oil pump is the later type so is the engine original?

No idea if the engine is original, but if it's good I'll keep it and maybe look into running it on bike carbs.

If you are swapping to right hand drive you will need to get a smaller brake setup as that think is huge 🙂 no way you will carbs on with that on the other side!!
