Having been lucky enough (a bit of a semi unplanned trip to British Motor Museum car meet on Tuesday), to see this car in the flesh, thanks for letting me look around it Keith, it’s even more impressive than pictures do it justice. It really is a credit to you mate. I am even more convinced now it needs to be in a specialist auction along with a build portfolio 👍

My Lad was most impressed by how polished the paint work was, even in the engine bay 😎  He also loved the rims and did not believe me that they was steel lol.

Keith, my 79 car came with a pile of the old chrome stuff, but I am not sure exactly what bits you need. Can you highlight them on a pic and I can have a look through.

I think I only have the door trim rather than the rear bit but I'll try to double check today.

This Chao on eBay has quite a few he's breaking apparently.

After all the work you put in it must be very satisfying to have done 2400 miles without too much trouble. Glad you’re using it and having fun 👍

I too have this concern. I realise now why so many classic car owners are happy to roll them out of the garage at the weekend wash and polish them and put them away again. It’s lovely to take them for a spin or attend the show but I’d be terrified to leave my car anywhere unattended particularly overnight. I think this concern is shared by so many when they consider how many man hours they’ve invested in their pride and joy they would be absolutely devastated if anything happened to it and a payout from the insurance company wouldn’t repair the emotional damage.
