Just as a guidance/idea. If you can find a suitable bellhousing, you could make up a plate as per photo...I used this method to fit a Monza 265 box to my Chevy V8 engine......

Similar plate available on German eBay to mate up the 1.3/ 1.8 four speed bellhousing to the getrag 265. €150 for the adapter plate.

Found, this, says you use a manual omega box?

Thanks, but yes saying to use the R30 box if you can find one, rare as. The R25/28 is basically a 240 in a GM casing, so I suspect the R30 might be just a 265 ?
anyway, I do have a spare 240 1.8 gearbox case, but I really did not want to destroy it to make a bell housing. I would gave rather purchased an XE to type9 new for £240 and chopped that, but I have a bell housing off an auto box now. I only wanted the first 1" after the flange & starter bulge anyway to make one (weld to CIH flange).
