Posted February 6, 2021 Share Posted February 6, 2021 Again these recent prices have a knock on effect to every manta owner, to replace what they have in the event of unfortunate circumstances on the road or stolen, the costs of replacement is going to be far greater. I will definitely be reviewing my fixed insurance valuation this year just to keep myself in the market if ever I needed to make a claim. These prices are now getting to the stage where it’s serious buyers with deep pockets who can afford and own one, £20k for a project all be it possibly a light restoration will limit the buyers. what I remember back in the day and what attracted me to them was they seemed to be very popular with the young lads, everywhere you looked on our streets up here you could spot a Manta, and to me always more desirable than any equivalent Ford at the time. There was a time in the early to mid 90’s the Manta seemed to disappear from our streets up here like turning off a light, nobody wanted them, you could pick them up really cheaply. They are still a rare sight on our streets up here but how the tide has turned on values. With relatively low survivor numbers in good to very good condition this is probably one driver on pushing up prices, secondly, attitudes for buyers are I presume, get a good one while they are still available, I still see prices rising for the foreseeable future of these 80’s icons.
