Sutty2006
Hello everyone. Some of you may already use this company for parts, and i know some of you have spent a lot of money with them! Some of those hard to find parts for your restoration can be bought in Germany and posted to the UK. This company offer a lot of those hard to find parts, and getting them here is fairly easy. So if you cant find it locally, try here! https://www.edelschmiede.com/ There are, of course, other companies too. Like... https://www.mm-opelparts.com/ Personally never ordered from M+M but I have bought parts off them at Billing years ago. Enjoy!
Trooker
Have purchased various bits from edelschmiede but I got rear wheel bearings from M&M last year. They’re easy to deal with too. I’ve a feeling that there was a list of places on a post several years back, wonder if it’s worth reviewing those too? I’m thinking along the lines of https://www.tjmotorsport.co.uk and https://ebay.co.uk/usr/alymac_altopel Edited April 18, 2021 by Trooker Additional info
Sutty2006
I’ve pinned this one to the top so it doesn’t get lost in the loop of posts. If folk find others they can post in here for others to use.
611
Got a fair few more links on my blog. They do more than just A series parts but put them on their to help people looking for bits for their A. http://www.theopelproject.com/opel-manta-a-series-parts-links/ I have used most of them for parts. krause Racing Germany have some good parts and are very helpful but only take payment by bank transfer. Opel GT source in the US have a fair few bits and are making new parts now (like lights etc..) aand Gil is very helpful. Andy

robah
A few dealers I have used in the past via the interweb. Opel Classic Parts - Opel Classic Parts (opel-classicparts.de) Classic Opel Parts Emmen | Classic Opel Parts (copeparts.nl) VAUXHALL BEDFORD SPARE PARTS (vauxhallgreenparts.co.uk) Lenk-Opel-Tuning (lenk-tuning.com) I have used a few more as well and to my recollection I have never had a problem with any services etc. Some I have had the old language barrier problems but then I try to translate the wording to help. I have used some suppliers for my XE equipment in the Manta, and a few for my Vectra B. I do spend hours scoring the interweb, when I am looking for parts, even down to fixing and fasteners to ensure I get suitable items and have built up a large list of suppliers and part no's to compare. I do periodically check the sites are still up and running. This one might be useful (not used yet but might need to replace my screen due to scratches). Classic Glass For Classic Cars (pilkington.com)
Jessopia74
Pilkington are very good for the classic supply, however if not in stock ( and that is most), then it is about 3months delivery. So if you thinking about buying new from them, order way before you need.
robah
This site I have never purchased from (USA), but I find it a good reference point looking for those little pieces, you can't describe, but a picture paints a 1000 words 👍 GM Automobile Fasteners - Auto Hardware for General Motors Vehicles (clipsandfasteners.com) It also has links to other brands and items. Danny D114BCW
BEWARE! Myself and a few other have been stung on the import duty on items such as panel and wheels etc. Please keep this in mind when buying as it will be plus 20%.
Sutty2006
Did they sting you when goods arrived in the country? Or later on?

Just to correct, thats VAT not duty, duty is a sliding scale and us zero rated on most car parts apart from complete engines (for some reason). the sellers your buying from should not be charging you VAT in their country, so this should be taken off the purchase price. I know a lot if the EU sellers are currently not doing this as the platforms have not updated to take it off when choosing U.K. Edited April 26, 2021 by Jessopia74

At the moment most of us are paying the VAT in both countries as the sellers systems do not count be U.K. as a none EU country. Maybe they thought we would never really leave, but it's disappointing that this double taxing is continuing.
Sutty2006
I’ve not had anything through from the parts I’ve bought off edelschmiede. The price I’ve payed online is the final price I’ve payed and there’s a customs declaration printed on top. First parcel I had a few months ago they had opened it at customs and cut my free tea bag open!
