When giving a wash, spotted a very slight water leak from the rear window

The window opening type, the clip the goes into the “B” post is insecure

What glue is best to use.
One step forward 2 steps back

You need to use the UV cure stuff for best results. Can be done with a uv lamp or a nice sunny day. And preparation is key to getting a good bond Mate, needs all crap taking off and a good clean up.

Was hopefully going to use this in the summer, but it not going to happen.

It’s all the little jobs that are adding up

So l have decided to look at summer 2023 (12/14 months) before it’s back on the road. That way ( hopefully) l will get it right.

Will post the little things that get done ( May be a bit boring)

That has to be 1 of the nicest rear ends, (manta)  that I've seen!

Now doing go spoiling it with a number plate!

It's a shame that numberplate are so ugly, no matter what you do with em.

About time they became invisible,  QR code tech,  could take care of that. Doesn't even need to be on display.

Perfect balance anyway, fogs, rear infill, irmscher graphic, back box, height.

Deserves a photo shoot. Soon.....

Careful what you wish for! What you have described there is a black box of sorts in every car, with automatic debited fines or your biometrics no longer functioning to drive the car if you are banned.
I for one are looking forwards to welcoming illustrious AI overlords 😂

I really should not go poking about, l think l was a keen on the battery tray post

So tonight was having a look at the xs sealer on the battery tray

Had a poke about and one thing lead to another, and all this is what happens.

But on the plus side, the wing is off ,xs to the inner wing, battery tray is brilliant, looks like a easy repair

Going to flush out the old brake fluid 500 mm per corner

Also going to fit lower, top ball joints, drop links, track rod ends .

Going to remove the road springs clean, paint, same colour as the shocks

Can anyone tell me what height the standard road springs are on the front

The is lowered springs on the rear ??

Well them holes go a bit bigger

Went to do so work outside.started to rain, so in to play with the manta

Cut back to solid metal , Stop raining so back outside

Made some plates and welded 2 of 3 plates in

Turned out well so far

it had quite a bit of body filler in there, don’t understand why you do this as the welding has been done in 2 hours so far.

Some ppl are just stupid Wayne and will put filler everywhere they can. At least it’s not stuffed full of cardboard like cars in the 80s 😀 I remember my mate buying an XR3 that had more cardboard and filler in sills than steel, poor Sod wasted so much on that car. But he would not be told to walk away from it by our very competent mutual friend that was a car dealer 🤔

Got all this from eBay the cost is about £60/70

This is the first time ( serious attempt at welding) as l was going to get someone else to do it

All though the N/S inner wing, battery tray is in reasonable condition, was not expecting the body filler l found, but that is all gone and solid metal will be welded in and sealed.Hopefully Will not need the welding wire

Did find it hard to welded with this welder but l think l have got it sorted

Its a cheep welder was not expecting much but it works ok

Yes great effort on the welding,  it is difficult to get the hang of, had to buy a smaller welder as I was borrowing on and had to basically turn it off to stop it burning holes.

Sorted now, but only good for up to 5mm plate. Can't weld without gas, tried it,  and no not for me.

As I say to anyone, practice is key, prob best to clean up two strips and weld em on the floor, butt weld.

Also help to have metal as clean as possible! Run one of those sanding pads over it, makes a major difference.

Any way,  great guns,  works going well, getting better by the day,  and most important saving another one for the road.

Tip, a welders magnetic angle will find filler, just don't try welding it, the heat will create fumes, that will.... Prob be the worst fumes ever experienced.

Today was raining first thing,so played with the manta

ALL THE WELDING DONE ON THE N/S at last

Sealed the welding as the was very small holes when l put a light on the inside of the manta (they were very very small but water will get in)

Going to fit a plastic tray under the battery and run a breather pipe from the battery to somewhere

If l get a chance tomorrow will paint and under seal inside and the wheel arch.

Then stripped the upper and lower suspension arms off anit roll bar

The drop links come off very easy was expected to be sized

Going to replace the ball joints weld some plates in the lower arms

A very positive day for a change

Yeah sounds like best way. Your right, it’s difficult with mig on some panels, especially on the shockingly thin steel used on the later shells
