7 mm copper pipe arrived today
Made a headlight adjust, this may just work

6 mm pipe to attach to the headlight, 7 mm pipe attached to 6 mm pipe

Fit washer before fitting the pipe

Cut a 7 mm thread , fit a 7 mm rod to the pipe , fit springs

Will need a bit of feting

Have spent a good few hours on the headlights  ,building it up checking that the adjustment works

Did find that if they are 3 1/2 to 4 inches they do look right, don’t know about the headlight aim

Got the radio CD player working, got to make box’s for the speakers

When l look at the photos was showing about 2 1/2 inches

So made them at 2 1/2 inches, headlights stick out

That’s why it was a good few hours trying to get it right ,hopefully can adjust the headlights

Nice work mate, still would have gone with the brass tube myself and M5. You can also buy silver solder rods if you wish to solder the connection to thread with something a little better then pipe solder, but you will need MAPP gas as it’s working temp is hotter. It’s half way to a braised joint.

The cost of doing the adjusted this way was about £45.00 and quick to do

Plus l only had solder in the garage ( this is the 5 attempt at this, have spent £50/60 on things that did not work)

Used 7 mm rod as the fixing holes are 8 mm the headlight body

The 6 mm copper pipe is very secure to the headlights

The oil light on the dash not working, oil pressure is okay
Does the pressure reg under the exhaust manifold work the oil light

The light was working, have not checked the wiring yet

It does both, two terminals mate. Usually it’s heat damage to the wiring from the heat makes it very brittle, possibly broken.

They where in garage been there for years

I did buy speaker box years ago,had to cut the box up to make them fit

So this time l made my own ones

Today replaced the wiring to the front indicators, fitted day time running lights.work brilliant.

removed the inner rear trim’s checked for any rot , all very clean no rot , waxed the inner wings refitted trim’s rear seat

Put the front bumper back together all bits looking good, went to put on the manta, l have only got the wrong bumper, the side of the bumper is to long come past the wing centre air scupper thing jammed on the lower panel.

I think it’s of a F reg manta, did get it from Rob ( FOC ) ,but sold the one that was on the car , did think to check as l though they are all the same .

Should be easy enough to pick up an original bumper to fit, at least you have your paint and an expert at spraying front bumpers. Great effort so far, it’s coming along nicely  👍

Today had a go at finding out way it will not fit

Found that the fixing brackets on the side’s move backwards and it was twisted when l tried to fit it.they lineup when in the right place(been a long day)

put up some photos to show where it catching on .Hitting the lower panel and the chassis legs

Was thinking cut the air scupper thing hopefully it will fit

Had a look on eBay (no exclusive bumper) ,all the bumpers are the same one l have got .

Has anyone got a front bumper from a exclusive of the car and take a photo,

looks like it's too low. Only difference between an exclusive bumper and a GTE one is the washer jets for the headlights. You sure you've got the mounting brackets on the correct side (not got the left bracket on the RHS)?

That was my first thought did not take the chassis brackets of so l though l put it on upside down.

The bumper bar will only fit on one way

But l will check on the chassis brackets ,good though l never thought of that

Just gone in the garage, swapped over the chassis brackets ( O/S to N/S)

did not work put the bumper lower

Must have the wrong brackets then I guess.  Maybe they are chrome bumper ones you have?
