Just the outside to tackle now when the summer comes back 🙂

They look great Andy, am also looking at those tiny "B pillars" of your car. Those days you could look all the way around  and not as modern cars.

Herman, im not sure you can class them as pillars!! I think the glass has more strength than those!! But as you say it does give you a nice view without much to get in the way.

I saw a German one and he had made it so you could wind the window and pillar down into the rear quarter! a bit like some American cars. That would be great on a sunny day with all the windows down 🙂

I looked into that so much to make it work, god knows how they managed it as there is so little room to drop the glass into the quarter with a mechanism.
looked at Mk4 escort cabriolet mechs but don’t drop the full way.
also a BMW setup but the mech too big to house.

Nice seats! What are they out of? And are they comfy? I just can’t seam to find any decent seats for the manta. I want Sierra 3 door recaros but they cost more to buy than it would to buy the mantas again. Also looked into monza seats but again, can’t find any and those I can find have Ford tax applied.

Im not sure, whish i had paid more attention at the time and tried to work out how they did it, but at the time i just thought "Ooh, that's quite cool" and didnt think much more about it. Im not sure if it might have been a custom setup, i remember see ing the winder handles in the back so it must have been a proper setup of some kind.

I suppose you would have to just have the runner on the pillar side. I wonder how the Yanks do it on their ones?

They are Cobra Le Mans Reclining Sport Seats and i bought them new as i had the same problem as you trying to find any decent second hand ones at a reasonable price. Cost £400 each, so not cheap but well worth it. They are super comfy. A slightly different sitting position that the Dayton's i had in there before. Im well happy with them and selling the Datona’s will cover at least a 3rd of the cost. And i think they fit the car better!

Ouch. Yeah 800 for a pair of seats is nuts, I just don’t see where the cost comes from, to be completely honest.

these are the ones I want, but still expensive.

but at £450 it’s a lot of hard earned Wonga! Then there’s these monza GSE seats, saving of 50 quid over the Ford seats.

ive had a few different sets of seats in my hatch. Aston Martin full leathers there comfy but heavy, and sat too high up for me. Sold them and put Honda CRX sport seats in, they were light as a feather but the base was slightly slopped because of the floor in the CRX so both seats slopped into the centre of the manta. Only slightly but got annoying. I’m back on the GTE seats now, but they don’t match. Ones a GTE seat and ones an exclusive seat 😂

It is a lot of cash. I should get £300 for the old ones so it makes them £500 the pair which is not much more than those second hand ones and unless you can go and see them your never 100% sure what they are going to be like until they turn up. Decided i would spend the money on them and paint the car myself, saving loads on not having a body shop rip me off!!
