Jonathan Pounsett
Has anyone any knowledge of these? What’s the quality like? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/124783639501
Sutty2006
I wonder if they’re all the same key? 🤔 and I mean, between sets……

Jonathan Pounsett
I’ve got a set of these now. Door and boot locks are really good and look like the originals. The ignition looks a bit cheaper and is a bit “notchy“ but this may improve with use. Same key fits them all but isn’t great quality - 2 keys supplied. No sealing gasket or fixing clips were included in the pack which was a bit disappointing.
Jonathan Pounsett
BEWARE!!!! The outer casing has been manufactured to a slightly smaller diameter. This gave me three issues to overcome; 1. The rubber gasket is visible around the lock. This is only an aesthetic issue and will not be detrimental to its performance. I think it looks like I used the wrong gasket and it will bug me every time I lock or unlock the car. (No central locking). 2. As the casing diameter is smaller it feels lose in the hole. I think over time it will “sink” showing more of the gasket at the top and possibly even allowing water penetration. 3. The old locking springs/clips need to be reused as none are provided in the kit. Resizing the spring was a tricky operation as by its nature it returns to its normal state. Unfortunately to achieve the right amount of adjustment required exceeding it elastic limit and both door springs are slightly out of shape and don’t lay flushly(?) against the inside of the door. If you don’t like “flushly” substitute “correctly”. My fear is that they will fail at some point in the future and the springs will drop out. I don’t think the lock itself is in danger of dropping out as it will still be attached to the mechanisms connecting rod. Having said that they work ok and are inexpensive compared to sourcing matching lock sets. I’m not going to change the ignition unless/ until it breaks. 🙂 1
les87GTE
Thanks for all the info and pictures regarding these as I have been looking at them for a while. Knowing what you know now, would you buy them again? And if not, where else can one go?

Look on eBay Kleinanzeigen search “Opel Manta B turschlosser”.
