Timmmy
HI everyone, My name is Haydn, I grew up in Halifax, West Yorkshire but now live in Detroit, MI, USA. I recently picked up this very rare in the US 1972 Opel Manta A race car. I will be restoring it/ rebuilding it as a vintage race car over the coming winter. Nice to meet you all and I look forward to picking your brains on technical/performance stuff on this thing. Thanks Haydn

Timmmy
Must be missing something, I don't see an attach icon or button. Here is a link to an iCloud gallery. https://www.icloud.com/sharedalbum/#B0zGKQPy6GcUVrq The history of the car has unfortunately been lost. The car was found in an estate sale in Illinois, near Chicago.

611
Welcome. Interesting car! Looks like it has the TE2800 style body kit! As you are in the US Gil over at Opel GT Source will be a handy contact as they do a bit of stuff for the A series and lots of nice CIH stuff. Yeah, I am digging to see if I can find an y of the missing history. As for the headlights, I hate them and already have a dual round headlight grill coming Andy: Yeah I think it is the TE2800 body kit. Once I get the car running and driving I will be tearing it down to the bare shell to put in a new cage and do bodywork. Once the body is good I will one pulling molds from the body so I can reproduce the fenders and rear end stuff. The car will get vintage raced so it will get dinged up LOL. 3

The rear end has a bigger lip on the trunk that blends down the back of the rear 1/4's. I have yet to find this on any other Manta A's. Anyone seen this anywhere else? https://www.icloud.com/sharedalbum/#B0zGKQPy6GcUVrq;38C6D961-5D8F-4887-9098-853248B0A73A https://www.icloud.com/sharedalbum/#B0zGKQPy6GcUVrq;BAA77B2D-66E1-45C2-ACCE-EEEB94FB535B
Sutty2006
Just the look of that car looks awesome. Hope you’re going to keep it looking that way. Black with gold highlights really suits it.

Might be a one off.
®evo03
Copied your image! Lets the horse see the cart! I do like the headlights, unique, are they viva units? Headlight make the car very mad max, last of the interceptors! Edited August 7, 2021 by ®evo03
