Ebay: 87E GTE Exclusive Coupe (2.OL LET)

Recommended Posts

Simon Peckham built that, I remember when he brought it to billing a few years ago. Wasn’t lucky enough to get a ride in it but I bet it’s one hell of a car to drive. No point putting the boat anchor back in it, much more modern engine gives way to a much more modern driving experience!

Definitely an interesting car, but I think it would be better off at specialist auction and might be worth more if it was put back to a gte?

I tend to agree. If it were standard it would get snapped up.

It's also on Pistonheads for £15K: https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/12171115

Nearly worth buying to remove the LET and put back to std gte 🤑

Excellent plan! I’m running an entirely standard 2.0e engine & injection - all the bits you need! I’ll drive my car up to your place & you can swap the engines over.
Will I need to stay overnight?

🤣 But a LET is worth a few quid now, going for a huge pile of beer tokens.

ultimate street sleeper manta.....with it making more BHP than a works 400 ...i do love the cih engines, but with this pro conversion already in place i certainly would not remove it.

At 15k on pistonheads... i'm surprised its not already sold😍

I thought it would do way, way more

Me too but with restrictions easing & lots of people having overspent on holidays etc plus the back to work & school season for lots it’s probably as bad as trying to sell late November.

It doesn’t appeal to the concourse brigade either so I’d imagine dealer type investors less likely to take a punt.

Great car  great buy, new owner needs a lsd if not already fitted, too much power for one wheel drive!

Very much this, if it hasn’t already got one. Even the XE is a wheel spinner without the lsd. Best money I spent on mine.
