New member hello

Hello all, new member of sorts just checking in. I’ve a 1980 Cavalier Sportshatch that I hope won’t be frowned upon 🙂, bought in 1987, stripped in 1992 and ever so slowly being built up again. Now the kids are older the progress is gaining pace so I’m hoping to make contact with members in the West Midlands area who can help me remember where some parts fit..

Hope to meet and chat all things Manta in due course.

Sounds like a perfectly acceptable timescale.

ps. Not a million miles from me by the look of things. Fun fact - Irmscher and Steve Thompson cars were both located in Walsall.

Indeed, I was a regular window shopper at the Irmscher unit in town, in my youth. Steve Thompson’s place is now a Co Op store sadly.

You and me both !! I remember seeing a fair few i200s there. Do wish I’d bought one. I did pop down to the Irmscher depot and asking about the costs of a conversion, think they quoted what seemed like a horrendous price.

Sure, I got as far as a catalogue and a badge for the boot, anything after that was beyond my apprenticeship pay.

Pub meeting in The Midlands area tonight, if you are at a loose end. The Royal Horse, (Hungry Horse pub) in Warwick.

We should be meeting from 8pm onwards.

Hi and welcome, got my about 2 years ago, could have used it on day of delivery 

Check it out and 2 years later still have not driven on the road as yet 

One thing leads to a another problem. But getting there 

Hopefully next spring ( can check out on Irish blue)

Got this with a 12 month MOT from northern lreland .Tested with a blindfold

The pub meet is on the 3rd Friday in the month at the same venue.  Unfortunately I couldn't make this one as it was my step sons 21st.
