Right ive now made my mind up on the engine front. I have decided to go for a 16v conversion but with a difference. The honda s2000 dohc v-tec to be precise, complete with six speed box attached. I realise that significant fettling is going to be required to mount this bad boy but i think it will be worth it. 240 naturally aspirated horses and bullet proof reliability, I just couldn't resist.

I think getting the final drive ratio right is going to be the biggest job as my auto seems to run a 3.44:1 ratio compared with the 4.1:1 of the s2000. The smaller wheels will compensate a little. The haynes manual lists 3.89:1 and 3.67:1 ratios, which are closer to the honda. in fact the 3.89 should be quite close with the difference in tyre diameter. not sure where to find one of these though, the haynes lists the 1.6s engined A.

I would quite like to fit some form of limited slip or torque biasing diff. Is there a cheaper alternative to the quaife? and if i find the right crown wheel and pinion will they fit?. Are A,B,C diffs interchangeable? These are just my thoughts at the moment and any advice would be appreciated.

Then theres brakes and suspension. Oh no what have i gone and started!

Now somewhere, there must be a chap feverishly plotting to fit a CIH engine into his S2000. If only you could meet up...[:D]

That certainly sounds like an interesting swap you're contemplating!

Cheers,

Joe.
