  1. Bought this when I was 18yo, and it's been off the road for..... ever? Late 90s I think... Usual story, chassis rot. Lots of work involved, so thought I'd better subscribe and hopefully get a bit of knowledge from the folks that know these things inside out! First step is to get it stripped - hopefully engine coming out next week - and then get the chassis rails to a state where it's safe to go up on Ade's rotisserie thing! I did toy with the idea of strapping it to the bulkhead so I could perhaps rotate it just a little to make life easier with getting to the swan necks, dunno if anyone's tried that before? Obviously it won't go far round, but even a few degrees would help with access. Also, the wing tops are pretty much gone (but inner wings pretty good). Current ideas being tossed around are going the spaceframe/flip-front route, or somehow getting some new wing tops in the right place. All ideas buzzing around anyway, am sure you'll see more of this lunacy as the weeks go by ! Cheers! A

  2. Thanks Stuart, the registration plate is a military one. I was a member of the occupying forces in Germany, my UK colleagues had also those black plates. I was stationed near the old East German border. @Evo: Was a nice car, fitted later a 2liter engine and a 5speed gearbox. The vinyl was black, had to remove it cause there was rust under it.

  3. She looks great, Big Stu took care of her. And she reminds me of my first Manta: Time goes fast... Enjoy her!

  4. Jess, I ended buying an MS2 V3 from Phil, as the MS1 proved to be too old to update; we chatted via email and he convinced me to go for the MS2-alomg with a buch of documentation. i'll be installing it this Saturday, weather permitting.

  9. You can get around the limitations slightly with LE-Jet &Turbo with an adjustable rising rate fuel pressure regulator and higher CC injectors. The pulse width will be wrong with the turbo, but it can be brought closer to correct with a slightly lower base fuel pressure(careful, atomisation is still important) and then it rises as the manifold pressure increases. This will get you Into 6-7psi ok , poss 10psi. But in all cases the ignition curve is going to need to be tweaked.
