  1. After a long break from Mantas and Opels in general Iโ€™m back and about to get stuck into another Manta project. I thought it was about time I rejoined the club to see whatโ€™s new on the scene. A few of you may remember me from many moons ago when I had a few different Mantas. Iโ€™ve settled on buying a Hatch shell (some time ago) and have been in planning mode whilst I sorted out my workshop ready for the build. Anyway, hello to all members new and old and I hope to bump into many of you when I get this project running.๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ‘ Paul.

  4. its GM Pineapple yellow Pete; i was going to repaint it the original Monaco Blue, but a late 90's Astra of that colour pulled up alongside me one day, and i was hooked. I intend to repaint with the same colour later this year, funds permitting. taken at Billing in 2009:

  5. Tried to contact "Omega-Pistons". Last week (Wednesday) I mailed them but no answer. Disappointed, I am used to get a confermation after a message, been too long in the army... Today I filled in an automatic contact question form on their website. Noticed the head gasket needs to be special for a "400" engine. The head has got other water channals, even the shortened 24V head is different. Need also new gaskets for the cam-covers and the tensioner cover. Can order those gaskets @ Risse in Germany. Will take some pics, makes everything easier. Am yet trying to go up backwards on the stairs. After a meniscusoperation painfull but important. When I come home from the pub the wife thinks I'm going down to the loo... Got some time untill the lockdown is ended. Stay healthy, Herman

  6. yes to all the above. an unusual fault but unlikely to be anything other than door switches, main light switch or possibly(but very rare) the earth from the actual light touching in the roof. pull fuse 3 to isolate

  7. Sounds like it might be a bad earth too, or battery has just died. I would take the battery off and get it tested ( be free if you take it auto parts store etc) If battery is failed, then replace. If it's good, look at removing & cleaning up terminals on Starter, chassis earth wire etc

  8. Sounds really obvious, but make sure you havent pulled the light switch into the "OUT, interior light on" position. I only mention this as when I 1st got mine I couldn't find out why the light was on til I got the book out.... OOOPS, easy done if you don't know.

  9. Hi Matt try removing the door pillar switchs the wire may have fallen off and is now finding an earth thus the lights will stay on.
