  1. It’s a very difficult car to sell it seams. Turning it back into a normal road car would cost a fortune. Isn’t it space framed? You’d have to Chuck a huge V8 into it just to match it, there’s another chunk of cash. So a 10k car could easily turn into 30k if doing it right. Crate motor and gearbox from the states, etc etc. No point chucking a 2.0e back in it lol i know exactly what I’d do given a no limit budget. Enough space in there for a 6.5 V8 turbo diesel out of a humvee, paint it olive drab and have a twin straight through pipe out the back. That’ll turn Greta over in her sleep haha

Top work their mate👍 a credit to the club...i quess its fair to say this one is a keeper and you won't be selling it on😛 Have you thought about the value of it once completed for insurance purposes yet...25k maybe🤑 Will be great to see it on the road and at the shows..maybe a youtube vid of it reunited with its former keeper like you said.

  5. Wouldnt really be a car for the manta purest, but given a thought, and a plan would make a high value car. Think its being advertised in the wrong places, it needs shown for what it is now, and what it could be. .........i think revamp.....some styling changes and a monaro setup! Or total mad max look! With the hummer plant! At 10k surely thats a steal, given the recent manta sales.

  6. They did and made an A series front panel 😂 won’t happen so crack on, it’s a major task and running the club is hard enough I imagine.

  11. I did bid on this ages back in a moment of utter madness when the Engine was included, bid 7.5k but didn't meet the reserve. Would have no doubt been a blast on the track.

  12. It would be great to see this form keeping a record of members completed manta projects every year so we could look back and see how many were returned to the road with mot, bet the numbers would be low. Just a quick tally count for reference at the start of “your project threads”. I completed my one in 2020 and put on an mot, first one since 1999, I looked on how many left and there were 14 1985 GT/E’s mot’d and I made that up to 15.

  13. There will come a time when panels won't be needed, there are only so many unrestored cars out there that will get restored. Those figures will decline with time, a full restoration end up a garage queen, plaything, whatever you wanna call it think the panel thing is twenty years too late, its not viable to make tooling for 5 roof skins a year? What would make it viable, 20 roof skins a year? 40? What benefit is it being a omoc club member with original panels, that wants to buy a roof skin, opposed to joe public? I can't even get my OMOC membership changed, so i give up? Influencers get paid nowadays! Its some peoples income, career, Seems here you have a pay to be an influencer, the members are the club,.......how things have changed!

  14. From what I remember the club had already bought a number of panels to have remade.....what happened to them? I know the club was in talks of getting panels remade, it was one topic discussed at one of the last AGMs I attended so it can’t get brushed under the carpet. If panels have been bought using club funds to help produce replacements it’s in club interest to continue that and should be brought back into play. Especially how shows and meets have been on hold for 12 months we should have been pressing this more while everyone is tinkering in their sheds, surely?

  15. No it’s a scam. someone is hacking an eBay users account then listing hundreds of cars for sale that aren’t his, with 2 pictures. One of the car, and one of an email link to contact. I can guarantee that email link will then hack your own email or IP address. eBay are slow to do anything about it. But it’s best to keep reporting them as fraudulent listings.

  16. Let me know what you have and I'll get back in touch with them see what the pricing would be like etc. Didn't want to tread on any club toes of course if the process is already underway?

  17. A couple of small steps forward on the headliner project over the last few days: 1) I have now sourced and received a better material to make for the cross rod sleeves. 2) Today I ordered three samples of headliner material (White, Ivory and Black). I cant quite decide whether to go for White, which I think was the main colour originally, or use he Ivory, which is what it has discoloured to now... Of course, the Black goes in the centre and highlights where the roll over bar is positioned. I'm tending towards the White, but will make the final call once the samples arrive.

  19. Shows up on the mot check site as an Opel Manta Evolution. Also noticed the third picture ( passenger side ) is a mirror image of the drivers side photo ( first photo ). I thought it was weird as it’s both left and right hand drive 😳. Maybe there’s something to hide or he just forgot to take a photo
